Terms of use
These terms cover the VinEye Telegram bot (@vineyebot) and this website. By using them you agree to these terms.
- VinEye shows reference information: what a VIN means and records found in open sources (auctions, manufacturer recalls, public registers and lists).
- We do not promise the information is complete, correct or up to date. Records are possible matches by VIN. If no record is found, it does not mean the car had no damage.
- You make the buying decision yourself. Inspect the car in person, with an independent mechanic, and check its papers before you pay. As far as the law allows, VinEye and its owner are not liable for decisions made on this information or for any loss.
- A match with a stolen-vehicle list is a reason to check the car with the police. It is not proof that the car is stolen.
- Damage drawings are made from police or auction records, not from an inspection of the car.
- Translations are made automatically and may contain mistakes. They are not certified translations and have no legal force.
- Customs figures (Russian version only) are an estimate. VinEye is not linked to any customs service.
- You may use results for yourself and show them to a seller or buyer. Automated collection, scraping, bulk copying, resale of results, building other databases from them, and presenting them as an official document are forbidden. We may block accounts that break these rules and take legal action.
- VinEye is not linked to any government agency, auction, dealer or carmaker.
- We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a translation differs, the English text applies.
Privacy
Website
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising trackers. Our hosting provider processes technical data such as IP addresses only to deliver and protect the site.
Bot
- We keep only what the bot needs to work: your language, the VINs you checked, the cars you watch and your Telegram chat number (to send you messages). We do not keep your name, phone number or username.
- Photos and papers are processed and deleted right away. We do not keep them.
- If part of a paper is hard to read, that page may be sent to an outside text-recognition service only to read it. It is not kept.
- If the bot does not understand a question written in words, the question may be sent to an outside AI service with the lines of the car card, but without your name, phone, links or VIN. Questions and answers are not kept.
- To stop bulk collection and resale, the bot counts your checks per day (the counter resets after 24 hours) and adds an invisible code to its answers.
- The /deletemydata command deletes everything we keep about you. The daily limit and any access block stay in place.
- We do not sell personal data.
Questions about your data: info@getvineye.com.
Copyright and trademarks
- © 2026 VinEye (getvineye.com). All rights reserved. The names VinEye and GetVinEye, the domain getvineye.com, the eye logo, this website, the bot's texts, the design of car cards and reports, the paper-translation templates and the software are protected by copyright. They may not be copied, reproduced, framed, scraped or used without our written permission.
- Answers of the bot carry an invisible code linked to the account that asked, so copies sold or published in bulk can be traced.
- Open data from public bodies is used under its own licence. The list of sources and licences is in the bot (/licenses).
- Car brand names and logos belong to their owners and are used only to show the make of a car.
- Auction photos keep the auction's own mark. VinEye never removes it.
- If you own content and believe it is used wrongly, write to info@getvineye.com with the subject "Copyright". We will review it and remove it promptly if the claim is correct.
Requests from law enforcement and government
- VinEye is a private service. It has no access to closed police or government databases and does not act for any authority.
- Because we keep very little personal data (see Privacy), we may have little or nothing to give.
- We answer lawful requests sent from an official address to info@getvineye.com. We may check that a request is genuine before we answer.
- We do not share personal data without a lawful basis.
- If a record we show is wrong, write to info@getvineye.com with the subject "Correction" and the VIN. We will check it and correct or remove it.
